Extract of a Letter from Petersburg, January 5.

We have now the pleasing Intelligence to convey to you that we have almost a Certainty of the pacifick Ending of all Differences between Russia and the Porte. Within these few Days a Turkish Courier of some Dignity, attended by a Guard of 20 Spahis, arrived here, with an Assurance from the Grand Seignior, and the Divan, that they have acceded to all the Proposals of the Empress of Russia, and flattered themselves that the Armistice would meet with no more Obstructions, but be happily concluded on both Sides. This was immediately made publick, and received with great Rejoicings.
