HER FATHER INFORMS POLICE

The Girl Left Home Sunday and Nothing Has
Been Learned as to Her Whereabouts-
Had Appeared Happy and Contented.

A new epidemic has struck this city,
and although it is not as contagious as
yellow fever, nor is its effects so deadly,
yet it causes much sorrow to mothers
and brings stern words to the lips
of fathers.

The epidemic may be termed the
"runaway plague," and has come upon
certain young girls of this city unawares
and they do not seem to be able
to resist its baneful influence.

As was told in yesterday's issue of
The Tribune, two 17-year-old girls ran
away from home Saturday and have
not yet been located.

The latest addition is Rose Green,
aged 16 years, who resided with her
parents at 472 Pine street, Central
Falls, just over the city line.

She had lived happy and contented
at her home until Sunday, when she
disappeared suddenly and nothing has
since been heard of her.

Her father reported the matter to the
police of this city this morning and
said he thought that she had gone
away with some of the members of the
theatrical company that played at the
Pawtucket Opera house the last three
days of the past week.

When she disappeared from home she
wore a checkered skirt, brown cloak
and a sailor hat with a feather in it.

Her father said she could also be recog-
nized by a brown mark back of one ear.
