-Mrs. Fannie Miller alias Frank Gordon, who has just served out a term of forty days in the city jail on a charge of keeping and maintaining a house of prostitution, was before Justice Commings yesterday afternoon on a warrant charging her with assault to commit murder.

It will be remembered that some time ago, while in charge of officers Sargent and Gossman who were taking her to jail, Mrs. Miller turned on the officers and drawing a revolver fired two shots at them, barely missing Sargent's head. She was finally secured and taken to jail, where she has been ever since, until arrested on a charge of assaulting the officers with intent to kill.

Bail was fixed at five hundred dollars, and her mother, Mrs. Louisa Mayers, became her bondsman, and she was released. Mrs. Miller, it is said, intends leaving Cairo for good as soon as she can dispose of some property she owns here.
