COMMUNICATION.
There has been such a noise about our American democracy, that one might be ready to conclude, if they credited the incensed junto, that hell itself was let loose from the bottomless pit, and joined with republicans to overwhelm our country with devastation and ruin—if Hamilton is dead, and Burr become like Cain, a fugitive and vagabond on the earth, and the aristocratical junto are descending to equal disgrace, contempt and oblivion, what will the forlorn remnant of tories and federalists do? How will they exist, or endure existence in this land of freedom?—Do they support themselves with the idea, that their cause will revive like the Phoenix from his ashes? Vain expectation!—Fallacious hope!—The glorious American Union, and the august fabric of our constitution and government are, and ever will be impregnable to the desperate assaults of the separate or the combined forces of its enemies, foreign or internal.
