The election returns at Fairfax C. H. on Monday, were honorable to the zeal and intelligence of that county. Mr. Littlejohn, the republican candidate having 157 votes, and his adversary only 120. The freeholders of Fairfax also testified their approbation of the conduct of their late servants by polling 161 freemen for Mr. Summers and 157 for Dr. Blake, whilst their federal opponents, Dr. Coleman could procure but 115, and Mr. Lee only 101 votes. It appears then that Fairfax still retains her republican spirit, but that Mr. Lewis has a majority in the congressional district. The seat however will be contested, as it is said that in Loudoun there were polled more than 80 bad votes, and that the election which was there continued 3 days, was informally conducted, and that in Fairfax more votes would have been given to Mr. Littlejohn, had the weather been favorable, or had the federal sheriff permitted the election to have continued another day.
