HE GOT LIFE FOR THREE; MOTHER-IN-LAW, FATHER-IN-LAW AND THE WIFE

MIAMI (INS)- A sentence of life imprisonment at hard labor was meted out Saturday to Edward (Bubba) Roberts, the first person in Dade (Miami) County history to be tried on three consolidated murder charges.

Circuit Judge Robert L. Floyd handed down the sentence after denying a motion for a new trial.

The 26-year-old Negro was convicted Wednesday in the rifle slaying of his wife Blanche, 26; his father-in-law, James Smith, 67 and his mother-in-law, Miriam Smith, 66.
