Messrs. Gales & Seaton,
I beg permission, through the medium of your paper, to present my most sincere and cordial thanks, as well as those of several persons with whom I have been conversing, to the author of the piece signed an American, which appeared in your paper of yesterday, in the course of which he has favored the public with such just, patriotic and spirited remarks upon the unprovoked, cold blooded, and inhuman butchery of our sailors at Dartmoor prison.
