An infant child (aged one month) of Mr. Samuel Davis, of Annapolis, Md, was cruelly murdered, on Monday, by its colored nurse, who administered laudanum to it by saturating some cotton and placing it over its mouth while asleep.

The mulatto girl Ann acknowledged the commission of the act and was committed to jail next morning. She had previously made two attempts to escape from town, but was arrested.

The colored girl belonged to Mr. Lewis Tylings the father-in-law of Mr. Davis, and had previously, on several occasions, given evidence of possessing a wicked disposition.
