ROAD PLANNERS IN
STUDY OF COUNTY'S
SECONDARY ROADS

The Lake County Road Planning committee, at a regular meeting held at Ronan recently, completed plans to extend its study and program to what has to be done now to keep the secondary roads in this county in at least passable condition for the spring break up.

Robert Hanson, chairman of the group, reviewed the work of the legislature in revenue raising bills that will in any way give the Lake County commissioners added funds to build roads in the county.

Mr. Hanson said that the amount of extra road money coming in from this source would be small.

The committees of the group outlined plans for discussion with the county commissioners, to assist that board in every way possible in meeting the road problems.

It was estimated that the road tax money raised in Lake County will hardly be ample for a maintenance program over the more than 1500 miles of farm-to-market roads the county now has with no adequate financial source in sight for new road construction.

The executive committee of the planning board will confer with the board of commissioners to lend assistance in getting the Round Butte road underway this year and to get the East Shore highway into the state's primary road system. Also, to get plans started on the Charlo to Moiese road.
