Full Text
Quite an interesting game of baseball was witnessed by a number of fans and others on the post diamond Sunday afternoon, between the town team and a nine from company I at Fort Brown. While the game was not without errors there were some very good plays on both sides, and the town team showed a marked improvement over the Sunday before. At the end of the first half of the ninth inning the game was concluded, the town team having eight scores while the soldier boys could not show up but 5. The game was good natured throughout, and while there was the usual amount of "guying," it was all well taken, and no one got real mad. Sergt. Roberts umpired the game, and his decisions appeared to be very satisfactory.
