Full Text

We find the following extract floating in the great sea of newspaperdom without credit. We believe its paternity belongs to the Chester County Express. The beautiful fancy which it embodies, is certainly worthy of a chaste and polished pen:

And so another Spring and another Summer have passed away. Spring, with her fervent beauties—her buds, her shoots, her hints at grass, and foliage and flowers—and Summer whose dainty touch finished and fortified the sweet work so fairly begun by her spicery breathed sister. And now it is Autumn, and in the solemn temples of nature high mass is celebrated for the universal bereavement that the earth is called upon to endure. The departed hours—like dried blossoms saved in books, but little used—except by one! are hid away amid the ponderous records of Eternity. Some will retain their enchanting perfume, others will mildew and rot, losing their scents in unsavory corruption.

And yet they will all be preserved they will all testify.
