Full Text
Senator Bacon said of the delay on the part of the Senate committee charged with the duty of investigating official stealing in Cuba: "What the democrats ought to do is to bring before the country the action of the republicans in refusing to take any steps to ascertain the true state of affairs on the island. There is no doubt that the apparent apathy is due to the fact that the republican managers know that a rigid investigation of affairs would disclose the existence of frauds which the administration would rather keep in the dark until after the coming election."
