Full Text

The Washington Globe says that China has banished paper money, and that therefore America should also become a 'hard-money' nation. In China there is no paper money—no credit system.—And what are the consequences? Is not China among the lowest in the scale of nations? Are not her millions of people the most abject, degraded and miserable beings who cumber the earth? Does the Globe wish America to go back to the darkness and barbarism of China? It must be so, or it would not labor to destroy the Paper and Credit System.—Evening Journal.
