Mr. Saunders, lately convicted of theft, and who on the 17th inst. was complimented with the discipline of the cat o'-nine tails, appears to have been an adept in villainy--on the 14th inst, he broke open Mr. Nicholas Hodge's shop in Newbury-port, and stole from thence goods to a considerable amount; but being detected and imprisoned, confessed the fact; and very complaisantly shewed Mr. Hodge where he had deposited them, who found them all safe, He there said that one Joseph Weeks, a sawyer, was concerned with him in the theft.
