Full Text

The Demand for Horses in this neighborhood for the Wade and Hutchings cavalry has produced quite a brisk trade with the farmers. The prices have ranged as is supposed, at moderate figures—$80 being the average for such as have heretofore been held at $100 and upwards. Though some have, no doubt, from the stringency of the times, been sold below their value, it is just as true doubtless, that many plugs have been worked off, whose riddance was a windfall to their owners, and will leave the common stock much improved.
