In Gettysburg, Pa. on Monday 9th inst. there was a tremendous hail storm, accompanied by high winds and rain.-- Such is the damage done, that it is calculated that nearly 10,000 panes of glass have been broken in that village--much lumber and fencing have been destroyed -several houses were injured in the roofs --and an immense quantity of corn and buckwheat entirely and literally cut off.

As an evidence of the size and quantity of the hail, the Gettysburg Centinel states, that fifteen hours after it fell, large masses of it were collected from the ground.
