The Greek Government arrived at Egina on the 10th November, and constituted itself on the following day. Constantine Nieodemus is appointed Commander in the town, and the protection of the national assembly was entrusted to the Ipsariots. The accounts of the military transactions in Livadia itself are very unfavorable for Turkey. On the 1st Dec. Musta Bey was totally defeated by Karaiskaki, at Arachova. A few days before the Turks had, indeed, maintained with great loss their position at Dobrena, on which occasion the Greeks lost their brave General Jannacki Sultani: but, after Karaiskaki's victory, the Turks had been obliged to abandon their position. There were public rejoicings at Egina, with thanksgivings for these events. The insurrection in the island of Candia is spreading rapidly, assisted by the Greek garrison of Carabusa. All the inhabitants in Livadia are under arms.
