THE ADJOURNMENT.

After 11 o'clock last night, the two houses of Congress separated, after having within the last ten days, but particularly on yesterday, gone through a great mass of public business. Much harmony has prevailed during the latter days of the session, and many measures have passed through the prevalence of a spirit of concession, which would otherwise have been rejected.

The Peace Establishment, after much difficulty between the two houses, was at length fixed at ten thousand men, and a law passed accordingly.

The bill or an Extra Session was negatived.
