Fatal Explosion in a Fireworks Factory.
Nicholas Boree and His Sister Lose Their Lives.
The Body of the Latter, It Is Thought, Was Rent To Pieces.
CHICAGO, April 15.-One of the main buildings of the Chicago Fireworks Company, at Gross Point, 14 miles north of this city, blew up this morning, resulting in the death of two employes and the serious injury of six more. The dead are:
Nicholas Boree.
ANNIE BOREE.
The cause of the explosion is not known, but it is supposed to have resulted from some grains of powder being ignited by the concussion in the machinery used in making fireworks. The force of the discharge blew out the sides of the building, letting the roof fall in. A moment later there was another explosion which shattered the roof. As yet, the remains of Annie Boree have not been found and it is the belief that she was blown to pieces. Nicholas Boree, her brother, was horribly mangled. Several others were so badly burned and lacerated that it is feared they will die. There were eight persons at work in the building at the time, not one of whom escaped injury.
The injured are: Chauncey Siemy, Rosa Nertenns, Lizzie Shaten, Katie Ellman, Emma Simpske, Annie Cressant.
