WORKERS HONORED

Three Navy Relief Society volunteer workers meet with RADM J. S. Dorsey, Naval Base Commander, following an awards presentation. Honored with the Meritorious Service Pin were (left) Mrs. W. R. Johnson and Mrs. K. R. Dye. Miss Des Anges Cruser (center) 16, the youngest volunteer ever to receive commendation here, received a 100-hour pin.

Navy Relief Society Honors Two With Meritorious Service Pins

The Meritorious Service Pin, the Navy Relief Society's highest honor, was awarded to Mrs. K. R. Dye and Mrs. William R. Johnson to highlight the annual recognition coffee for volunteer workers last Thursday at the "O" Club. RADM J. S. Dorsey, Naval Base Commander, and President of the local auxiliary made the presentations.

Ladies Honored

Mrs. Dye was cited for her outstanding work here as chairman of volunteers and of the Thrift Shop, while Mrs. Johnson was honored for her longtime participation in the layette knitting programs of various auxiliaries, as well as her leadership as chairman of that service here.

NavBase Certificate of Recognition

In addition to the presentation of the Meritorious Service Pins, RADM Dorsey awarded the Navy Relief Society's Certificate of Appreciation and the Naval Base Certificate of Recognition to Mrs. A. B. Coxe, Jr., Mrs. James D. Collett, and Mrs. Frank Haylor.

Additional NavBase Certificates of Recognition were presented to Mmes. G. Bjornson, R. Buechler, A. Hughes, J. Jauhola, R. Lamka, D. D. Moore, M. McClintock, R. J. Netro, J. Miller, G. Smith, and D. E. Willman.

Youngest Volunteer

The youngest volunteer ever to receive commendation here, 16-year old Des Anges Cruser, was presented a 100-hour pin. Navy Relief Certificates were also presented to Mrs. Aldo Baldini of Italy; Mrs. Terence Martin of The United Kingdom; Mrs. Miguel Rivera of Spain; Mrs. Immanuel Rodholm of Denmark; Mrs. John Tillson and Mrs. Douglas Murray, wives of Army officers; and Mrs. Garland Poehler, an Air Force wife.

600-Hour Pins

Six-hundred hour pins were awarded to Mmes. G. Bjornson, W. Harris, G. Noble, D. Smith, and H. Webb.
