UNION TO PROTECT EMPLOYES IN DISPOSAL OF PULLMAN SERVICE
PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 12.-- (ANP)--The welfare of Pullman employes will be presented to the federal district court here during a hearing on plans to dispose of Pullman car service.
According to Leon M. Despres, general counsel of the United Transport Service Employes of America, CIO. UTSEA lawyers will insist that adequate attention be given to the welfare of the Pullman employes in any plan disposing of the sleeping car service.
The federal court recently ruled that the Pullman company was a monopoly and as such must dispose of its operating or manufacturing properties. The company has already expressed a willingness to sell its operating properties which includes sleeping cars, repair shops and laundries.
