LONDON, MARCH 24.
We last night received a Gothenburg Mail, and Ministers had dispatches from Stockholm. The Danes have declared war against Sweden, and Prussia has joined in the declaration of hostilities. The Swedes are abandoned to their own efforts, and we have no doubt, from a review of all the circumstances, that they have been before this time compelled to submit to the dictates of the confederacy.
Nothing of this kind, however, appears in the papers from Sweden.
They appear to have placed their dependence on the co-operation they were to receive from this country, in consequence of the promises they received from our Ministers. We understand, however, that most of the ships which were ordered for the Baltic are countermanded, and that no troops are to be sent into that sea.
