SOUTHERN WILL WIN.
In railroad circles in Chattanooga it is currently reported that the Southern Railway system will absorb the Memphis and Charleston road. In some quarters it is reported as a foregone conclusion that such will occur.
Receiver Henry Fink of the Memphis and Charleston is said to be working the wires in an effort to secure control of the road independent of the Southern system. The road will be sold in the near future. After the Southern secures the Memphis and Charleston it will likely reach out for the Cincinnati Southern.
