HONORS TO SUMNER.

WASHINGTON, April 27.—After the reading of the journal this morning Senator Boutwell submitted in accordance with previous notice the following:

Resolved, That as an additional mark of respect to the memory of Charles Sumner, long a Senator from Massachusetts, business be now suspended, that the friends and associates of the deceased may pay fitting tribute to his public and private virtues.

Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate be instructed to present these resolutions to the House of Representatives.

The resolutions were unanimously adopted, and Mr. Boutwell addressed the Senate, delivering an eloquent eulogy of the deceased. He was followed by Senator Thurman and others.
