Tribune Closes First Stage Of Annual Subscription Contest
Mrs. Elsie Canty Wins $200 Cash Prize

The first stage of The Tribune's annual subscription contest came to a sensational close Tuesday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Elsie Canty. Mrs. Canty, though physically disabled, has competed in this annual contest each year for the past five years. Being unable to make personal contact as other contestants do, Mrs. Canty makes her appeal by phone. In this way, she has built up a tremendous list of subscribers who refuse to support anyone but her in these annual contests.

Following close behind Mrs. Canty was Mrs. Milton Roy. Mrs. Roy trailed Mrs. Canty in last year's contest. Again she trails Mrs. Canty by $80.00 but she walked away with a $150.00 cash prize.

Mrs. Annie Spragins came up for the third place and was awarded $100.00 in cash.

All workers in the contest who did not receive prizes received commission on their reports. These workers did an outstanding job, for which the Editor of The Tribune is most grateful. Our subscription goal is 100,000. Our slogan, "No reading table is complete without The TRIBUNE."
