I herewith hand you my supplemented report of the fourth examination of the tax books for the year 1904, from which it will be seen that W. D. Dickinson, tax collector of Alachua county, Florida, has overpaid on the special school tax the sum of $170.04, and that the sum of $105.65 is the amount required to balance said books, which said amounts are divided in the following funds: General revenue, $21.71; road tax, $32.61; school tax, $51.33.
In view of the fact that Mr. Dickinson has overpaid the sum of $170.04, and it required the sum of $105.65 to balance the books for said year of 1904, I would suggest that in order to balance said books, that the board make an order allowing Mr. Dickinson full credit for said amount of $105.65. It is evident that an error existed in said book, and which error could not be found without going through the whole book, which could only be done at great expense to the county.
Respectfully submitted,
FERDINAND BAKER,
Special Examiner.
Ordered, that the above report be accepted and W. D. Dickinson, tax collector, be allowed a credit of $105.65, as is shown above.
The board adjourned until Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock.
