TOWNSEND IMPROVEMENTS.—TOWNSEND is growing rapidly. The land owners there are wide awake and are holding out inducements to persons to come and build homes. Many buildings have recently been put up and the outlook for the next year is encouraging. A new saw mill is to be started and other enterprises are contemplated by men of means. M. B. Burris, of Middletown, has been engaged this week in laying out building lots in the village for A. Finley, and other land-holders purpose putting eligible lots in the market this Spring. The spirit of old fogyism has no abiding place down there, it seems, and we shall not be surprised if Townsend puts in a water system and buys a fire engine before Middletown.—Middletown Transcript.
