From Vera Cruz—Probable Withdrawal of Troops.

We yesterday received by our overland express, a copy of the New Orleans Picayune of the 31st ult. By the steamship Globe, Capt. Wright dates from Vera Cruz to the 25th ult., have been received. A correspondent of the Picayune says:

"At headquarters in Mexico, the universal opinion prevailed that peace was decided upon, and from several communications which I have seen, from the best authority, preparations were actually being made for the withdrawal of the army from the country, or at least the city of Mexico, on the 7th of May. And how in heaven's name can it be? The fact of Gen. Butler stopping supplies, save such as will be necessary for the army on their road down, is strange indeed."
