WASHINGTON (AP) - President-elect John F. Kennedy has chosen Najeeb Halaby of Los Angeles to be Chief of the Federal Aviation Agency. Halaby now is deputy chief.
Halaby will succeed E. R. Quesada who recently became part-owner of the new Washington Baseball Club, and resigned his federal post.
Halaby, 45, now has his own law firm in Los Angeles and is also secretary-treasurer of Aerospace Corp., the principal technical adviser to the Air Force on Ballistic missile and space programs.
Halaby was a test pilot for Lockheed Aircraft from 1941 to 1943 and then a Navy test pilot until 1946.
