Raleigh, N. C. - North Carolina farm owners are cultivating more land and tenants less.
This was revealed in a survey made by the state department of agriculture, of which Commissioner W. A. Graham is the head. Land tilled by the owners increased 91,284 acres in 1931 over 1930, while tenant-tilled land showed a decrease of 41,588 acres.
For three successive years, the report shows, acreage cultivated by owners has been on the increase. Home gardens under cultivation in the state during 1931 covered 83,004 acres.
