A few days ago The Republican noted that a man named Kusel who was formerly a tailor of this city, going from here to Fort Russell and thence to Sterling, Colo., was under arrest in that city, charged with having explosives in his possession. Kusel had belonged to the Moose here and wanted the dictator of the lodge at Sterling to assist him in getting reinstated after having allowed his membership to lapse after permitting his dues to become delinquent.
Today Aaron Powell, secretary of Laramie lodge of that order, received another letter from the dictator at Sterling, Robert Swinney, stating that in Kusel's effects the officers had found after his arrest, "dynamite, spitfire guns of all descriptions, with silencers attached to them, burglar tools all kinds of stuff that looked very suspicious at this time, when everything of this kind is being watched so closely."
Kusel worked in the tailoring department at Fort Russell and later went to Sterling. He tried to get into the Elks' lodge at that place. He will not be permitted to become reinstated in the Moose lodge here for the present.
