Full Text

How Is It? The Whig presses of this District are publishing from the Buffalo Express, an account of the scrimmage between Messrs. Clingman and Stanly, that occurred just before the adjournment of the late House of Representatives. How it happens that the "misrepresentations" of the affair should be corrected in a paper so remote, does not appear. Buffalo is the heart of New York abolitionism, and this explanation of the affair and laudation of Mr. S, appears in a paper published in that latitude. It is but natural to suppose that Mr. Stanly's peculiar friends reside in the neighborhood of Buffalo, and that he was desirous of setting himself right before his constituents of that city. Is it the Express the Northern organ of Mr. Stanly?

Goldsborough Republican.
