The Mobile (Alabama) Argus, commenting on the recent election in that state, which has resulted in the re-election of Gov. Pickens, says; "Although Mr. Chambers now, as in 1821, received the support of the adherents of Mr. Crawford in the State, still it had but little influence on the election. Mr. Crawford's prospects are now considered so low, and there being no fears of his obtaining the Presidency, the circumstance of Mr. Chambers being considered favorable to him, was hardly taken into consideration."
