State Action Advocated
To Bar Child Employment

Washington, D. C. (ILNS)-Urging that children be kept out of the labor market and jobs reserved for adults, President William Green, of the American Federation of Labor, suggested in a radio address over the Columbia Broadcasting System that state authorities require work permits for children to be returned upon the expiration of the work for which the permits were issued. Another step should be a public demand that no more work permits be issued to children during the unemployment emergency, Mr. Green said.
