Terrible Affair.

Rochester, N. Y., Jan. 7.—A shocking accident occurred in this city last evening by which eight persons were instantly killed and thirty dangerously injured. The floor of the school house connected with St. Peter's and St. Paul's Cathedral gave way, while crowded with people attending a holiday festival. Three hundred or more persons went down amidst the ruins. The wildest excitement prevailed, and it was some time before the wounded could be recovered from the debris. The following were killed: Bernard Downar and wife, Geo. Rink, Mrs. Chas. Sporl, Geo. Pap, Kate Lawrence, Emma Beers, and Mary
