Former Atlantan Whitney M. Young, Jr., National Urban League (NUL) executive director, conferred this week with UL officials and civic leaders in the course of field visits taking him to four major cities in the Midwest and Pacific Coast.
On Monday, Mr. Young addressed the annual meeting of the Kansas City UL, following a two-day schedule of conferences with local League officials.
The following day he consulted in Wichita with leadership of the Wichita UL and addressed the Annual Meeting of the local League on Wednesday night.
Thursday, March 15, Mr. Young participated in the Biennial Conference of United Community Funds and Councils in San Francisco.
During his Bay Area visit he spoke at a luncheon meeting attended by civic, business and industrial leaders of the community. The meeting was hosted by Edgar F. Kaiser, president of Kaiser Industries Corporation.
Mr. Young concluded his western trip in Los Angeles Friday with conference sessions conducted jointly by the LAUL and the NUL Western Regional office.
