SOME curious person has made a vocational analysis of Congress, and finds that of the 531 members of the Senate and House, 333 are lawyers. The complete result of the analysis follows:
Lawyers, 333; editors, 24; farmers, 22; manufacturers, 19; real estate-insurance, 13; bankers, 11; professional office-holders, 8; doctors, 8; teachers, 7; mining engineers, 6; contractors, 3; chemists, 3; public utilities owners, 3; merchants, 3; postal workers, 2; capitalists, 2; printers, 2; dentists, 2; commission merchants, 2; iron molder, 1; wholesaler, 1; glass blower, 1; owner clipping bureau, 1; lumber dealer, 1; miller, 1; well driller, 1; and unlisted and doubtful, 48.
There should be little difficulty in placing the blame for failure on the part of this Congress to enact legislation.
