EDITOR LEADER:—A challenge comes from the cheap picture concern on Eddy St., to Prof. Gudgel, who walked seventy hours at the Montana Exchange, to walk sixty-five hours in that concern, without rest or nourishment, for a stated amount or forfeit. As the Professor has accomplished it once, of course he can do it again, and therefore accepts, with the following proviso: That he choose his own place, and be accorded all privileges allowed other walkers before him. This will relieve him from walking in a foul atmosphere, reeking with odors of bad whisky, worse cigars, bad breaths, sour "Tom & Jerry," and of obscene pictures and blackguardism, to say nothing of the horrible torture to the sense, caused by that miserable worn out muscle box. The owner of the "cheap picture concern" is to be congratulated upon having at last found his affinity in the "White Swan," who no doubt, by holding her arm around his neck for support, will make the "best time on record," though she will be much demoralized by the contact.
