Full Text

NASSAU, (Bahama) June 25.

Since the beginning of March last, more than thirty sail of American vessels have been seized and condemned in the islands Martinique and Guadaloupe. So very strict is the French government to prevent the introduction of American flour into their islands, that every store in Guadaloupe was searched, and 3000 barrels being found, they were condemned. This extreme rigour is in compliance with orders from the French Ministry, occasioned by the repeated remonstrances from the commercial cities, stating the ruinous consequences that must accrue as well to the agriculture as to the trade and marine of France, from allowing the American States a free intercourse with the Antilles.
