WASHINGTON-(ANP)-More than two million dollars funds have been marked for the Granite Mountain slum clearance and redevelopment project at Little Rock, Ark.
Administrator Albert M. Cole of the Housing and Home Finance agency, last week announced approval of allocations of $1,175,849 in loan funds and $642,279 in capital grant funds for the slum clearance and urban redevelopment project in the Arkansas capital.
The project, embracing some 102 acres, is the second to be undertaken in the city.
Initial plans by the Little Rock Housing Authority call for the higher ground of the area to be used by private industry to build 69 units of single-family housing.
In the clearance, 127 families will be displaced.
For the project, Little Rock will contribute its share of the net cost in local grants-in-aid which reportedly includes a new elementary school, a fire station, additional recreational facilities and a trunk water line.
