The Emperor has sent to the Elector our Sovereign, a Requisitorial Letter on Occasion of the March of the French Troops into Germany: This Letter is dated the 24th of November last, and contains in Substance, That as the Territories of Juliers and Bergues are threat'ned, and that his Imperial Majesty is not able to succour them on Account of the great Distance his Forces are at, he had desir'd the most Christian King to Send thither some Troops, for whom his Imperial Majesty demanded of his Electoral Highness a Passage thro' his Dominions, &c.
The Elector has also receiv'd a Letter from Marshal Maillebois, dated the 18th Instant, wherein his Excellency also demands a Passage, and even Leave to sojourn in his Dominions with a Body of French Troops.
We are assur'd that his Electoral Highness has not only refus'd the requested Passage, but he has likewise declar'd, That if any Violence be us'd against his Dominions, he is resolv'd to oppose it, and for that Purpose make use of the Means warranted by the Laws and Constitutions of the Empire, &c.
