PILGRIM BAPTIST

Due to Dr. Massy's absence attending the American Baptist Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio and the National Baptist Convention Executive Board Meeting and Sunday School and B.T.U. Congress in Omaha, Nebraska, Rev. Chester Jones was the Father's Day speaker. He spoke on "Taking A Stand"

The annual State Baptist Laymen's picnic was held at Como Park on Father's Day. Pilgrim had good representation.

Monday, the Daily Vacation Bible School sessions began at Pilgrim. The Evangelism Committee is anxious to get a Home Visitation Campaign set up for September. One of its' objectives is to increase Church School and Daily Vacation Bible School attendance. Chairman is Mr. G. W. Wills. If you will serve, contact the Chairman, or Mrs. Charlene Dickerson.

The Ladies Aid Society picnic will be held in Amery, Wisconsin at the Banks and Bel s cabins on Saturday, June 21 at 10 a.m. Cars will leave the Church at this time.

Next Sunday, the Usher Board picnic will be held at Minnehaha Park at 2:30 p.m.

Reported on our sick list are Deacon William Black: Mrs. Frances Johnson and Mrs. Carrie Johnson. All are at home.

Pilgrim congratulates Mrs. Ruby Wood and Mr. Payton Hunt who received the Howard Award as outstanding woman and man of Pilgrim for the year 1958. Both, good, hard workers! Pilgrim also extends best wishes to its 1958 High School graduates.

Because of Dr. Massey's absence emergency calls should be made to the church office between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., or Deacon C. S. Anderson, CA. 5-7317 after 4:30 p.m.-Sherrie Mazingo, reporter.
