Condition of Unemployed.

New York, Sept. 28.--An extraordinary gathering began in this city today, made up of delegates who came on brake beams of freight cars, blind baggage and express trains, or straggled in over dusty roads. They profess to represent the country's workless and constitute "the first national convention of the unemployed."

How Welcomes Delegates.

J. Eads How of St. Louis, known as the "millionaire hobo," planned the convention and welcomed the delegates as they arrived. "The Health of the Unemployed," was the principal subject of discussion at today's session.
