ST. JOSEPH AND COUNCIL BLUFFS RAILROAD.—Mr. Ferriss, the Chief Engineer of this Railroad is in town to commence locating the road south of this place. The company are only waiting for a special election to be held in St. Joseph, before commencing work. As there is but little doubt that the people of St. Joseph will vote the required sum, we may expect the southern road to be completed by July next.

Mr. Phelps has commenced laying track from Bartlett south, and will push it on as fast as possible. The iron and ties are now on the road, and if the Missouri river should behave reasonably well, two months will surely bring the cars to Hamburg.—[Hamburg (Iowa) Times.
