NEW DATE SET FOR IMPROVED
SERVICE ABOUT SEPTEMBER
22, WITH DAILY ROUND TRIPS.
Superintendent W. N. Bickler of the G. and P. was an arrival in Salmon Monday evening, accompanied by his secretary, J. A. Globlich, expecting to spend the week up and down the Lemhi valley. There has been disappointment and delay in starting the motor service on the road, which was expected to begin September 12. The new date set for the service is toward the 22nd instant if nothing else intervenes to cause further delay, it being planned to run the car on daily week-day trips from Salmon to Armstead and return, leaving Salmon about 7 in the morning and arriving about the same hour in the evening, with a lay-over at Armstead from 12 to 2 p. m. These plans, are, however, subject to revision as the schedules may be found practical. It is hardly hoped to maintain the service through the rough weather of the winter, when the motor may be run between Leadore and Salmon only, with a daily train service between that point and Armstead in case the motor cannot make the hill.
