Result of the Conscription

Daily telegraphic reports are now being made to the Provost Marshal General, at Washington, of the number of men obtained by the conscription, so that an approximation of the final result can be made. It is not thought that the number will exceed one hundred thousand. Men at Washington, who are in position to speak knowingly, say that unless the Union successes continue rapidly there must be more men raised. So let the Provost Marshals keep wheels of chance well greased and in smooth running order.
