Full Text

In our editorial capacity, we shall endeavor to make the Intelligencer a faithful record of passing events, both foreign and domestic. We shall give the earliest intelligence from all quarters, and our selections from the current literature of the day will be made with a view to the useful and entertaining. We shall unite all the industry and talent we can bring to our aid. We are opposed to the leading measures of the present administration, and will sustain Whig principles.

Our Democratic friends need not be deterred from extending their patronage to the Intelligencer from an apprehension of wounded sensibility, as we have determined to exclude all offensive matter. We therefore, solicit the patronage of all parties, with the hope that our Journal will prove both pleasing and instructive.

TERMS.—The Macon Intelligencer will be printed on handsome paper, and furnished to subscribers at FIVE DOLLARS per annum in advance, or six dollars at the expiration of the year.
