BIG BUSINESS ON CAR LINES
Extra Cars Put On to Handle Traffic Over the Fairmont and Northern Lehigh With This City to Dakota Mines.
The people are taking to the street cars over the Fairmont and Northern line from this city to Dakota mines.
On the ten-thirty o'clock car there were 12 cars collected on single trip from Dakota to the city. People are walking from Rivesville to Dakota to take the street car in preference to coming to the city over the Baltimore and Ohio road on the Pawpaw Flyer.
The passenger traffic was so heavy today that an extra car had to be pressed into service to take care of the business of the road.
One hundred and twelve fares on a single trip on a single truck car is doing a rushing business.
It was lucky that the company had just put two new cars into service or it would not be able to take care of the increased traffic. Four more new cars are on the way and will be fitted up for service as soon as they arrive at the local car barn.
When the line is completed from this city to Fairview, which will be within a few months, double truck interurban cars will be used to carry passengers.
A baggage car will also be operated on this line. The baggage car is on the way here and will be set up at the local car-barn.
The interurban car has been ordered.
