Mr. Greeley writes to the Tribune, under date of Nov. 25, from Sandusky, as follows:
"The mail arrangements are not yet perfect on this great route. For instance, the Albany express train reached Buffalo a little before nine o'clock on Friday evening, and the passengers thereon, who had left New York on Thursday evening at six o'clock, came on board the fine steamboat America, Captain Howe, which left an hour afterwards, and landed us here, after a pleasant though slow passage, at eight last evening. But the great eastern mail for Ohio and all beyond is not here—is still lying in Buffalo, I presume, for want of time to distribute it between the arrival of the express train and the America's leaving; and, as a severe blow set in last night, and bids fair to continue, that mail is very likely to hang back these three days. This is grossly wrong, and must be reformed. The mail for this route must be made up by itself at New York, Albany and Boston—put in special charge of the mail agents on the cars, who should distribute the way-mail for southern and western Ohio to accompany it; and, immediately on the train reaching Buffalo, it should be sent at once to the Sandusky boat, without being taken to the Buffalo post-office at all. The cost of this need be nothing; the advantage would often be great."
