Various projects were proposed for entry in this year's competition.
AT A MEETING held on Dec. 5, Fr. Mario Serraglio, PIME, talked on "The History of Numbers." He is an instructor in math and biology at the PIME Seminary in Newark. Fr. Serraglio developed his talk by outlining the evolution of our present number system beginning with ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamian systems and continuing with the more complex refinements of modern times.
At another meeting, the club discussed "The Language and Ideas of Sets."
Participating in this panel discussion was Herbert Kaufman, Mary Pachuta, Judy MacDonald and Jane Weaver.
All panelists are students at Sacred Heart High School.
Meetings of the Albertinum Science Club are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 8 p.m. in Sacred Heart High School's science classrooms. The faculty and students of the science classes of area high schools have been invited to attend the meetings.
